We have a P25 map now!

P25 has always been an interesting one for me. I really like the look and feel of commercial radios, and a new digital mode to play with is always an appealing proposition. At the end of the day, though I don’t have a lot of time to get on the air, so I try to limit myself to just one for now.

I’d looked into P25 more than once, but I’d never come across someone who was actually using it. Looking at the data I could find, plus traffic figures on this site, I chose to invest in DMR for now as it seemed to have the biggest user base.

This all changed last week when I was chatting with another amateur about a new DMR handheld I have on the way, and they mentioned that they were into P25.

Maybe there are some users out there, I thought. Better give them a MAP!

So here we are, Online Repeater Map now has a P25 repeater map!

I’m really looking forward to seeing how much traffic the page gets. Could it get more traffic than the DSTAR map? Will it get anywhere near the C4FM map?

Only time will tell!

If there is enough demand for the page though, I may just be able to justify another handheld 😁
